This week we welcome John “Johnny” Breault—a lifelong creative whose journey into the art world began in an unexpected way. Born in the Boston area and now calling Maine home, John has lived a full life rooted in family, hard work, and passion for painting. Married to his wife Holly since 1980, he’s a proud father of three daughters and grandfather to three grandchildren.

After 42 years in the workforce—including 28 years in the Outdoor Advertising industry and 14 years with GE Aviation—John retired in 2020, but his love of art never slowed down. From hand-painting massive billboards in the late ’70s and ’80s to creating stunning oil works today, John’s path is a testament to learning by doing. Trained through a four-year union apprenticeship in lettering and painting ads, he never had a formal art school education—but his brushwork and creativity speak volumes.

John shares stories from painting on just about any surface imaginable, his perspective on the evolution of advertising art, and how his passion for oils continues to inspire him today. Tune in for an evening of conversation, creativity, and the joy of art with Johnny Breault!
