Aholah means "her own tent," signifying that the worship in Samaria (the capital of the kingdom of Ephraim/Israel) was self-invented and separate from what YAH Himself had previously established in Israel -- Israel was no longer in her Husband YAH's tent but rather in "her own tent" committing adultery against YAH with strangers (gentiles and their idols). In Ezekiel 23:8, YAH says that Samaria was still clinging to the wickedness they learned during their enslavement in ancient Egypt as clearly seen in their worship of the golden calves of Bethel and Dan; "...the king (Jeroboam) made two gold calves. He said to the people, It is too much trouble for you to worship in Jerusalem. Look, Israel, these are the gods who brought you out of Egypt! He placed these calf idols in Bethel and in Dan--at either end of his kingdom. But this became a great sin..." (1 Kings 12:28-29) The Israelites were no better than their ancestors who -- in the wilderness, during the First Exodus -- made "a molten calf: and they said, These be your gods, O Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt" (Exodus 32:4), but the calf was an idol NOT the Most High, YAH "and YAH plagued the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made." (Exodus 32:35) The Israelites of Samaria whored with the Assyrians so YAH sent the Assyrians to destroy Samaria and enslave them as detailed in Ezekiel 23:9-10. As recorded in 1 Maccabees 8 and 1 Maccabees 12, the Israelites later made an alliance with the Romans, the very people who destroyed the Second Temple in 70 CE and banished Israel from the promised land unto the present day (2025 CE). The sentiments of Jeremiah 16:6-8 where YAH says nobody would mourn for Israel coincides with Jeremiah 7:15-16 where YAH says, "I will cast you (Judah) out of My sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim. Therefore pray not you for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to Me: for I will not hear you." This means that YAH was going to punish Israel regardless of the prayers that were made on their behalf, but it is of utmost importance that we remember scriptures like Deuteronomy 4:27-31 "...YAH shall scatter you (Israel) among the nations, and you shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither YAH shall lead you. And there you shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell. But if from thence you shall seek YAH your Father, you shall find Him, if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul. When you are in tribulation, and all these things are come upon you, even in the latter days, if you turn to YAH your Father, and shall be obedient unto His voice; (for YAH your Father is a merciful Father;) He will not forsake you, neither destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He sware unto them."
