Jesus' Attitude

"If you listen for a while to the silence in His eyes in the icon, you will hear that He knows your pain, which He feels together with you in His own body. Only, His attitude toward it is not the same as yours. He has compassion on you, but you do not! Out of His mercy and love, He came to us and comes to you, to show you that your pain can be experienced in a different way than by revolting, accusing, and blaming — others, yourself, or Him. You, lacking mercy toward yourself, because of your desire for things to be as you would like them, always choose solutions that increase suffering, darken the mind, and poison life. But if you stop your grumbling, sit before Him, and decide to take on His attitude toward pain, everything will change!"
