Everyone was screamin’, shoutin’, please don’t offend me
I read my poem and triggered some great whale of a woman
Then her sister thumped her fist sayin’, fee-fi-fo-fum, I smell the blood of a man

So I took a tram from the poetry slam, got off at the parliament
There were people there with purple hair talkin’ ‘bout extinction
They said the end is nigh, we’re all gonna die, everyone was seething
Then someone said, how’s this instead?
Maybe we should all just stop breathin’

I was feeling kinda’ low when a preacher spoke to me
He said what is that you smokin’? I said something kinda’ green
He said you shouldn’t do that, boy, y’know, your body is a temple
Maybe so, I don’t know, I just pray my spirit’s on the level

So I headed home, dragged my bones, somewhere down the road
I heard a sound, a shadowy clown say, remember what I told ya’
Keep a smile, walk a mile in someone else’s shoes
Then you might remember, brother, you are me and I am you
