Brevard County, Florida – On 4/12/2025, police were dispatched to a vehicle following a USPS mail truck that was driving in the opposite lane of travel, throwing red solo cups out of the mail truck. Police responded to the area of the mail truck and observed the vehicle swerving. Upon contact with the driver, police observed the mail carrier to be confused and disoriented, with a flushed face and glossy eyes, and slurred speech. Having reason to believe she was under the influence, police asked the driver to step out of the vehicle to conduct standardized field sobriety exercises. The female was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and admitted to stopping for a drink while on duty delivering mail. The female consented to a breath sample, which resulted in a 0.100 BAC level.
