In Ch 1 we see a fascinating statement direct from the LORD HIMself that essentially say: Even stubborn donkeys and ox’s have more understanding and sense than what the people are demonstrating. Instead of understanding they push away the One who gives them all they need to survive. And again, this applies to people today as well.
I guess many unbelievers and believers do the same. Well, they know something is wrong with the way they are living, worshipping or lack thereof… but they go on without addressing it, without going to the source of the real solution: Yeshua.
The once faithful city of Jerusalem was also known for its justice and its worship of the GOD of Israel, the One True GOD. Now it has become like a prostitute by worshiping false gods. It has become famous for its injustice. Everything runs on bribes and corruption, leaving no hope for orphans and widows to receive justice or mercy. And no true worship of GOD.
4 He shall judge between the nations, And rebuke many people; They shall beat their swords into plowshares, And their spears into pruning hooks; Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, Neither shall they learn war anymore.
Mount Ararat: Where Noah’s ark rested after the flood while he and his family waited for the waters to recede. Mount Sinai: Where GOD gave Moses the Law.Mount Gerizim: Which we have seen. Several things, but it is where Yeshua had the conversation with the Samaritan woman.
Mount of Olives: Many events happened on this mount during Yeshua’s time on earth. This is where HE went to pray before HIS crucifixion and from where HE ascended to heaven. In the TANAK it is where David escaped from his persecutors. David wept there as well, a foreshadowing.
Mount Nebo: From here, Moses saw the promised land. Here he also died and was buried by GOD (somewhere). Mount Moriah: Where Abraham was to sacrifice Isaac and where Solomon built GOD’s temple. Mount Tabor: Known as the Mount of Transfiguration. Mount Carmel: Where Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal.
LXX ISA 2:2 For in the last days the mountain of the LORD shall be glorious, and the house of GOD [shall be] on the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall come to it.
During the reign of the Messiah, there will be no more war. There will still be conflicts between nations and individuals, but they will be justly and decisively resolved by the Messiah and those who reign with HIM. And HE shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people. NOT THE UN, the most corrupt and evil organization on earth…there are many I know.
