As part of the test program, the prototype of the transport aircraft Ilyushin Il-76MD-90A successfully landed and then took off from an unpaved runway.

The Il-76MD-90A is a deeply modernized version of the Il-76MD aircraft. The new transport aircraft received more powerful PS-90A-76 engines, thanks to which the aircraft improved its takeoff, landing, and cruising characteristics, and an updated landing gear with a high safety margin. These and other improvements allow the transport aircraft to be used at both equipped and unequipped airports, on concrete and unpaved runways, in various climatic conditions. Video by UAC.
