Marvel Eternals actor Kumail Nanjiani spoke recently about his experience working in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, MCU, and how he thought it was going to be his ticket to success.

Nanjiani said that when he signed the contract with Marvel he signed on for multiple movies in addition to a video game and some stuff for the theme parks. Since The Eternals was released and failed critically and commercially, he has not done anything for the studio. In fact, Marvel is almost trying to sweep Eternals under the rug and act as if it never happened. Kumail Nanjiani’s depression seems to stem from his lack of understanding how the entertainment industry works, but much of this could be Marvel overselling what working in the MCU could mean for actors.
