Max Headroom Coke Commercial 1986
A 1986 Coca-Cola commercial featuring the digital character Max Headroom was produced by director Ridley Scott and aired during prime time.
This commercial was part of Coca-Cola's promotional campaign for New Coke, which was introduced that year.
The character Max Headroom, portrayed by actor Matt Frewer, was created specifically for these commercials and later became the basis for a short-lived television series.
The commercials were notable for their dystopian aesthetic, influenced by Scott's work on films like Blade Runner, and were shot at Pinewood Studios near London.
The voice of the "mother" character in one of the commercials was dubbed by an American actress, although the actress herself was Elisabeth Sladen, known for her role in Doctor Who.
The commercial is remembered as a significant piece of 1980s advertising and a cultural artifact of the era.
