Installing Our Sig Sauer M17 and P320 RX / X-Five Red Dot Adapter Plates
In this episode, Al breaks down how to install our Vortex Venom adapter plate on the Sig Sauer P320 RX / X-Five and the Vortex Viper/Venom adapter plate for the Sig Sauer M17.
Our Sig M17 Adapter Plate works with the Vortex Viper / Venom, Burris FastFire, and Docter red dots.

Our Sig P320 RX / X-Five Adapter Plate only works with the Vortex Venom. The provided screws are specifically for the Vortex Venom and will not work with the other red dots.

Always be sure your gun is unloaded before performing any work. We always recommend using a qualified and competent gunsmith.
To install our M17 mount, you will need to remove the rear sight plate or red dot that is currently installed on your pistol. You may need to remove the extractor assembly. Use a punch to press down the extractor assembly and remove the striker assembly cover. This will allow access to the screws you need to remove to take the rear sight plate off. You can put our plate on the slide, just make sure the LCI is still in place. We provide you with the 2 screws needed to mount the plate to the slide. We recommend using a dab of blue Loctite. You can now mount the red dot on the plate with the provided screws. We recommend using a dab of blue Loctite on these screws as well and torquing to either 15 in/lbs or the manufacturer of the red dot's recommended torque.
The installation on the Sig P320 RX and X-Five is similar to the M17, but you will not need to screw the plate in from the bottom of the slide. This mount only works with the Vortex Venom. The mount is held in place by the same screws that hold the red dot to the plate. The RX and X-Five have a slight dovetail in the cut on the slide. The plate needs to be slid in from the side. The red dot can then be torqued down to the recommended 15 in/lbs.
Hex Wrenches Required:
3/32" to remove the original rear sight on the Sig M17/M18
5/64" to for the screws to fasten the red dot to the plate
