The First 15 Minutes of 幕末浪漫: 月華の剣士 (PlayStation, The Last Blade)
F
First15
Copied from PlayStation DataCenter:
The Last Blade (Bakumatsu Roman: Gekka no Kenshin), is a fighting game series created by SNK for the Neo Geo system. The Last Blade and its sequel are widely considered to be two of the most accomplished games available for the Neo Geo system.
The game takes place during the late Tokugawa shogunate era in Japan, and incorporates various elements of Japanese mythology. As such, the background music generally incorporates synthesized instruments simulating a sound appropriate to the 19th century setting, in a Western classical, pseudo-Romantic style.
The Last Blade series is seen as a spiritual successor to SNK's Samurai Shodown series, due to it being a similar 2D weapons-based fighting game. The gameplay is characterised by two selectable fighting styles, and a unique combo system along with a "deflect" system which involves pressing the D button at an opponents attack. Upon deflecting, the opponent is left open to attack.

Hikaru no Go is a manga series written by Yumi Hotta and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. The manga is largely responsible for popularizing Go amongst the youth of Japan, and in other areas.
The basic storyline is that while exploring his grandfather's shed, Hikaru stumbles across a Go board haunted by the spirit of Fujiwara-no-Sai, a Go player from the Heian era, who's greatest desire is to attain the Kami-no-Itte, a perfect game. Because Hikaru is apparently the only person who can perceive him, Sai inhabits a part of Hikaru's mind as a separate personality.
Heian Gensou Ibunroku (Heian Fantasy Chronicles) is an alternate story set in Japan's Heian period. The ghost/demon world is invading the physical, and before you can destroy each invader you must defeat them in a game of Go. To find where the invader will be, you choose moves on an enchanted Go board in the temple.

The third incarnation of the 2D fighting game Samurai Shodown is now available on the PlayStation with the release of Samurai Shodown III: Blades of Blood, known in Japan as Samurai Spirits: Zankuro Musouken. The game revolves around the evil Zankuro Minazuki. Zankuro ravaged lands, tortured innocent people, and burned villages to the ground. Rightfully nicknamed "The Demon," Zakuro attacked hundreds of people, becoming famous for his extreme brutality.
Now 12 mighty warriors search for the crazed Zankuro, each with their own agenda or reason for wanting to kill him.
Samurai Shodown III differs from its predecessors in the two fighting styles available for each character: slash and bust. Each style is symbolic of the light and dark sides to the characters' personalities, and gives players access to different moves and an almost entirely different way of stringing together combos and special attacks.

Samurai Shodown IV: Amakusa's Revenge, also known as Samurai Spirits: Amakusa's Descent in Japan, is the fourth in SNK's flagship Samurai Shodown series of fighting games. Chronologically, it is the second and final chapter of a story between Samurai Shodown and Samurai Shodown II, with Samurai Shodown III being the first chapter.
Among other series changes, aerial blocking was removed entirely, as well as the switch-around move and the dodges.
One can also no longer charge one's own "pow" gauge. The off-screen delivery man was omitted entirely. The "CD combo" was added, wherein a player can press the C and D buttons together, triggering a strike that can be followed up by a sequence of button taps.
SNK also added a "suicide" move, wherein one's character forfeits the round. The bonus to this is starting the next round with a full "POW" gauge. Certain finishes also enable a "fatality" move in the vein of Mortal Kombat.

Virus: It Is Awareis a loose spin-off of the 1999 horror filmVirus, and also the Dark Horse comic which the film is based on. Despite the fact that the game's opening and closing cinematics are set on a boat and space station like the film and comic series, the game itself is totally disconnected from both the source material and the game's own prologue and epilogue, instead being set in a high-tech hotel.
In this survival horror game, the player controls the female police officer Joan, who, along with her partner Sutter, investigates numerous murders of the hotel's inhabitants, only to discover that an alien electronic virus uses mechanical items to create robots, who in turn are built into the human corpses, creating zombie-type cyborgs. The game features light puzzle elements along with weapon-based combat, utilizing weapons such as pistols, Uzis and tazers; while the ballistic weapons are replenished by ammunition pickups, the tazer utilizes a depletion-recharge system.

Five thousand years later, Lara Croft discovers the lost tomb and unwittingly unleashes the Set, fulfilling the ancient prophecy of his return to plunge mankind into darkness! In a race against time, Lara must use all of her wit and skill to re-imprison Set and save the world from Armageddon.
Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation plays very similar to the previous games in the series, but some new things have been added to the game. The biggest addition is that now rather large parts of the game consist of several interconnected levels sometimes explored in any order, with puzzles in one level often requiring that some actions are done in other levels. Lara has also learned a few new moves: she can climb into the niches with low ceilings, she can now move around the corners while hanging and she can also pull levers and open trap-doors while jumping.

Most of the characters from the past four years return, thus providing the player with a very large roster containing 38 characters. Many of the characters have been altered in an attempt to make the game balanced regardless of the player's choice of fighter. Rugal Bernstein is provided as a non-secret character for the first time in KOF '98, and several regular characters have hidden "alternate" versions that may also be used in-game.
KOF '98 uses the same gameplay system present inThe King of Fighters '97, so players may still choose between Extra and Advanced modes. In addition to the Survival battle mode and the ability to choose between Single Play or Team Play, versions of the game on console systems that use CDs to contain their media (PSX, Neo-Geo CD) also include an Art Gallery one may look at.

Additions this year come in the form of slightly improved graphics and sounds, new moves and a new game mode. Gameplay is much more plot-driven, as you have middle-bosses that can change depending on what team you select. In addition, there are several special endings which are only shown when certain "Edit Team" combinations are selected.
As of The King of Fighters '97, you can play in either the Extra or Advanced game modes. Extra Mode is the typical AOF/KOF scheme, in which your power gauge fills up as you defend yourself or charge yourself up. The new Advanced Mode, only allows you to charge your gauge as you perform special moves and attacks. Extra allows one to sidestep attacks while Advanced allows the character to roll and dodge attacks; Advanced also allow a character to perform a potent "Super Desperation Move" at any time. In contrast, SDMs can only be performed in Extra when a character has less than a quarter of their health left.

Copied from Game-Rave.com:
Few games in history have the reputation that Superman 64 has, and it’s development history is one buried in disasters, problems, and involuntary design choices. What makes the situation more tragic is that the cartridge isn’t alone – the game was originally planned to have a PlayStation release as well sometime after the N64 version.
Did we as a gaming community lose something of value?
Yes – empathetically, hypothetically, and absolutely yes. Titus and BlueSky software took critical feedback of their game and tried to correct their source material.
As a game of what would have been, the PlayStation version of Superman held promise and more than likely would have found a foothold where the Batman games couldn’t.
According to Marc, the PlayStation iteration was coming along fine – but by then Titus had lost the rights to Superman and all related characters back to Warner Brothers and DC comics. With no money left and no way of getting the rights back, Superman was quietly and unceremoniously laid to rest. It was truly aDarkseidto the hero’s legacy.

Harry also spots a woman standing in the road, but due to the dense fog, he can't stop in time, so he swerves to avoid her, crashing into a railing, knocking him unconscious.
When Harry wakes up, his daughter, Cheryl, is missing. Sensing that she would head to the town to seek help, Harry sets out on a journey, not knowing what to expect from this eerie town, enshrouded with fog.
You play Harry Mason, a normal man, with no powers or training of any kind. You must search through the town of Silent Hill, looking for your daughter. You will come across many people, some friendly, some not. You must visit many different areas, such as the school, and the church.
Will Harry find his daughter and safely get out, or is there more to this town than a simple fog layer?

On September 14th 1998 Resident Evil directors cut dual shock(DCDS) was released. Capcom decided to add dual shock, replace the score, and still not use the uncut videos.
So to celebrate the 15th anniversary of it's release I'm releasing this mod that finally restores the uncut videos and the original soundtrack.
I have also included an all new "Arranged mode" called "Deranged" which like the name implies adds a new degree of difficulty to the game. I wanted to try and condense the game and handle the layout and item management differently to give a new twist on an old classic.

Final Fantasy IX is a role-playing video game developed and published by Square for the Sony PlayStation video game console. Originally released in 2000, it is the ninth title in the Final Fantasy series and last to debut on the original PlayStation console. Final Fantasy IX's plot centers on a war between nations. Players follow a young thief named Zidane Tribal, who joins with others to defeat Queen Brahne of Alexandria, the one responsible for starting the war. The plot shifts, however, when the characters realise that Brahne is working with an even more threatening person called Kuja.
Final Fantasy IX was developed alongside Final Fantasy VIII, but took a different approach by returning to the more traditional style of the early Final Fantasy games, and features allusions to other titles in the series.

Final Fantasy IV, known in the US as Final Fantasy II, follows the exploits of Cecil, a Black Knight and former leader of the Red Wings who questions the orders of his king and is demoted because of this. From here, he embarks on a journey that will span worlds and decide the fate of the entire kingdom.
Battles are turn-based, but introduced to the series is the Active Time Battle (ATB) concept, which forces players to be quick with their decision-making because, despite the turn-based nature of the title, enemies can attack at brief intervals.
The characters themselves are divided into classes and possess specific attributes and skills. Known as the "Easytype," the original US release excluded particular items, abilities, and spells, all of which have been restored for this release, dubbed "Hardtype." As part of the update, new FMV cutscenes are interjected throughout the game.

There are several improvements overthe first game: the cities now also have curved roads instead of just right angles, some missions allow to exit the vehicle and move around on foot, and there is a multiplayer game mode.
As before, the gameplay involves driving a car around the streets of the four city locations to complete the 37 main story missions. New to this instalment, the player can now get out of their car and carjack another one in order to switch vehicles when their current one has taken too much damage.
Driver 2also features some preset challenges and a Free Driving mode to explore the different cities at one's leisure. The new multiplayer split-screen feature includes four game modes: Take a Ride, Cops'n'Robbers, Checkpoint, and Capture the Flag.

The game features a multiplayer mode, but lacks split-screen; two consoles have to be linked together instead.
John Romero is quoted on the back cover, calling this the "best DOOM yet," and is credited as "Creator of DOOM". While Romero's quote may be taken with a grain of salt, former id Software staff have consistently expressed how pleased they were with the job performed by the Williams team in performing the conversion.
