APPLE CRUMBLE

3 Granny Smith apples peeled and cubed
⅓ cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons caramel sauce/treat
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ tablespoon lemon juice
1½ cups plain flour
¼ cup light brown sugar
¼ cup white sugar
100g butter cold and cubed
Method
Step 1
Place apples in a pot with brown sugar, caramel, cinnamon and lemon juice

Step 2
Cook over medium heat for about until apples soften slightly and the caramel mixture thickens remove from heat and set aside

Step 3
In a mixing bowl combine flour, brown sugar, white sugar, butter cubes and rub them into the dry ingredients with your fingertips until the mixture looks like crumbs
Step 4
Pour the apple mixture into a baking dish, spread evenly and sprinkle the crumble topping over the apples
Step 5
Bake at 180°C until golden on top
Step 6
Serve warm with custard
