White Rock

White Rock is in the village of Belaya Skala, in the Belogorsky district of the Republic of Crimea, a remote and not often visited location in central Crimea about 60 Kilometers from Simferopol.

“White Rock” is a vertical rock wall that rises 100 meters above the valley below, and its summit is 325 meters above sea level. It was created as a result of erosion and weathering of Cretaceous and Paleogene limestones and sandstones.

White Rock comes from the Crimean Tartar word “Ak-Kaya” meaning white rock.

This remarkable site, characterized by its towering cliffs and unique geological formations, creates an awe-inspiring backdrop for photography enthusiasts, and nature lovers.

The trails leading up to the peak are well-maintained, offering both challenging routes for seasoned hikers and more accessible paths for families and casual walkers.

There is even a recreation of an American Old West town with a sheriff’s office, a bank, and a ranch with a herd of horses. Each day around sunset, Russian cowboys herd the horses back to the ranch, creating a spectacle reminiscent of the old American west.
