When Leaders Disagree: Lessons from the Barnabas–Paul Contention
Barnabas—the "son of encouragement"—had the courage to believe in people. He vouched for Saul when no one else would touch him, introduced him to the apostles, and stood by him before he became Paul. So when his nephew Mark failed on the mission field, Barnabas believed he deserved another shot. Paul didn’t agree—he thought failure disqualified Mark from coming along again. The disagreement got so heated that Paul and Barnabas split—but here's the gold medal moment: later, Paul says, “Bring Mark… he’s useful to me in ministry.” Turns out, Barnabas was right.
Sometimes restoring someone takes more faith than replacing them.
