Phantom Squad | Isometric Military Tactical Shooter

Hello Im Skill Incarnate and Welcome to My Games Review Series.
My reviews cover indie games that i have bought, had gifted to me and have been provided by developers for review. In this episode I check out a brand new Indie Tactical Shooter called Phantom Squad. This game was developed by Ctrl Freak and was published by Super Rare Originals, the group behind one of the best indie action shooters called Oxto. Phantom Squad takes place in the dangerous world of counterterrorism, with the player taking the role of an operative in the elite Phantom Squad. Phantom Squad is tasked with eliminating terrorist threats across the world, taking on missions such as Hostage Rescue, Bomb Defusal and Priority Target Elimination.

The campaign takes place in over a dozen missions in locations like nightclubs, schools, prisons and the deep jungle. Your enemies are numerous and well armed, youll be up against heavily armed commandos, attack dogs and assassins, so players will need to employ strategy and cunning. You will use stealth to eliminate your foes, locating and rescuing hostages, and safely disabling traps. As you successfully complete missions, you will increase your ranking, unlocking powerful upgrades like remote cameras and night vision, as well as expanding your arsenal with shotguns, grenade launchers and throwing knives.

Phantom Squad is an incredibly tense experience, demonstrating that the best tactical shooters dont have to be from a first person perspective. The game campaign can be played cooperatively with friends, allowing you to build out your own squad, carefully planning and your approach via adding notes to the games interactive tactical map. Only the best players will acquire the three star ranking on each level, with the global ranking system allowing you to compete with other squads across the world for the title of the best counterterrorist squad.
