08.17.25 "The Harmonic Convergence - Stop Condemning Yourself"
Saturday August 16 was the anniversary of my arrival in San Francisco 46 years ago in 1979. I always remember that. It was also the 38th anniversary of The Harmonic Convergence which was a unique, synchronized, global peace meditation observed all around the world by many millions of people in 1987. A recently formed Community Miracles Center took part in a early dawn celebration on top of Twin Peaks, which are the 2 mountains at the geographic center of San Francisco (925 feet above the sea level of the Pacific Ocean just 2 miles away). It was an important early accomplishment for our new organization. I always commemorate it when it comes around.
The Harmonic Convergence was to usher in a new age of enlightenment on the planet, and I felt that the lesson for the day, "God has condemned me not. No more do I." (WkBk.228) was significant. The old age that was passing had conceptualized a God Who stood as a final judge and jury. Many thought themselves condemned by this old version of God, and ACIM tells us that we make ourselves (and others) sick and dead because we want to punish ourselves (and others) before God does it. It is a way to take what we believe to be God's supreme role aways from Him, and thus usurp the throne of our Creator. "But if he chooses death himself, his weakness is his strength. Now has he given himself what God would give to him and thus entirely usurped the throne of his Creator." (Mn.5.3)
On that day in 1987 we drew in a literal New Age that had a God Who did NOT judge and thus condemn. And if God wasn't doing it, then there was certainly no reason for us to do it to ourselves. It is only us who have condemned ourselves to experiences of sickness and death. We don't have to do it anymore, because we have been enlightened to the reality of a loving, and not a judgmental, Creator. "Thank God!" (literally)
Aug. 16 is also the date Elvis Presley made his transition in 1977 at the young age of 42. Therefore it was, "the day the music died." I'm not sure how that correlates with my arrival in San Francisco or the Harmonic Convergence, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.
