2025 is Declared the WORST Year for Superhero Movies Since 2011

Marvel and DC did not land at the box office this year with all of the superhero movies released failing to make their movie back at the box office.

Last year was already considered the worst year for superhero movies in a long time, but it seems like this year has even surpassed that. This is unusual considering the superhero movies were better received by critics and audiences in 2025, but in some respects that’s even worse for Warner Bros. and Marvel Studios. At least when the movies were a disappointment the studio could figure they would have made money if only people liked it better. Now we’re seeing studios like Marvel have done so much damage to their brand that even well received movies don’t do well for them because the audience just isn’t there anymore.
