Dive into the escalating drama of Georgia's 2026 gubernatorial race, where only two candidates have officially declared so far: Lt. Gov. Burt Jones and Attorney General Chris Carr, setting the stage for a high-stakes showdown between MAGA grassroots favorites and establishment figures backed by Gov. Brian Kemp's machine. Tonight, August 26, 2025, marks the official kickoff for Burt Jones' campaign at the Idlewilde Event Center in Flovilla, GA (6-7:30 PM), complete with a Trump endorsement aimed at rallying conservatives and potentially sidelining rivals like Carr and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. Whispers of a third candidate circulate, though it's unclear if they've filed paperwork to raise funds, which could split the MAGA vote or force grassroots supporters to evaluate newcomers amid tensions over election integrity and party loyalty. While Jones enjoys strong Trump backing and conservative enthusiasm, the Kemp camp shows no support, positioning this as a battle for the soul of the Georgia GOP. Separately, in the Georgia House of Representatives, District 10 incumbent Republican Houston Gaines faces no announced challengers yet for the 2026 election.

There is another candidate for governor in Georgia, there are only two candidates that have officially declared. There are messages about a third candidate but it is unknown if that candidate has filled out the paperwork to raise money. Tonight is the kickoff for Burt Jones. He has already gotten the Trump endorsement, maybe to be able to box someone out of the race because if it is Chris Carr and Burt Jones in the race. The Kemp family doesn’t support Burt Jones. Maga the grassroots will support Burt Jones, they will not support Chris Carr and Brad Raffensperger. But if someone else gets in the race, grassroots will look at the candidate.
We are looking for anyone else that is running for House District 10 against Houston Gaines.
