PM Modi’s Strong Message Ahead of Trump's Tariff Deadline, "Buy Made In India..." | N18G

India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, addressed the issue of the 50% tariff on Indian products announced by US President Donald Trump on Monday. He stated that the country was ready to bear the increased pressure and that it would surely find a solution. PM Modi added that the interests of small animal keepers, owners, and shopkeepers would not be compromised, and their welfare remained his top priority. He also emphasised buying “swadeshi” goods, which are made in India. Taking a jibe at the US, he remarked that there is a politics of economic selfishness in the world, with everyone protecting their own interests. He made these strong statements in the city of Ahmedabad while inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for projects worth $65.85 million. This announcement comes just days ahead of the August 27 deadline, after which the tariff will take effect. Trump announced the tariffs on India due to its increased trade with Russia.
