Hebrews 8 highlights the superiority of Jesus Christ as the eternal High Priest who ministers in the true heavenly tabernacle, unlike the earthly tabernacle made by man. Christ's sacrifice was once and for all, unlike the repeated sacrifices of the Old Testament priests. The New Covenant mediated by Christ is better than the old Mosaic covenant because it is based on better promises, including the law written on hearts and full forgiveness of sins. The old covenant was not faulty, but humanity was unable to keep it, necessitating the New Covenant empowered by the Holy Spirit. Believers are called to recognize Christ's living presence and intercession in heaven, embracing faith in Him rather than relying on ritual or the old law.
