"Such joint actions not only help improve the combat skills of military personnel, but also strengthen the strategic partnership between Russia and Mongolia," said Colonel Ivan Tarayev, assistant to the commander of the Eastern Military District for international cooperation.

The joint headquarters of the exercise leadership agreed on unified control signals for both sides.

Motorized rifle units practiced actions as part of a joint tactical group to destroy illegal armed formations during the liberation of an industrial facility in the border area.

Upcoming joint flight and tactical tasks for the crews of the attack and army aviation of the Eastern Military District and the Mongolian Air Force were also worked out.

Artillery crews were assigned sectors of fire destruction. Russian special forces and Mongolian special operations forces practiced actions to capture a "tongue" and land an airborne assault from Mi-8AMTSh helicopters in the rear of the command post of the imaginary enemy.

This year, the exercise involves units of the Ground Forces, Aerospace Forces and special forces of the armed forces of Russia and Mongolia, totaling about 700 people and up to 200 units of military equipment. This year, the Aerospace Forces will involve fighter, attack and army aviation.

During the exercise, servicemen of both countries will have to conduct a joint counter-terrorism operation to destroy illegal armed groups while liberating an industrial infrastructure facility in the border area.
