Confessions – An Overview
• Written around 397–400 A.D., this autobiographical work recounts Augustine’s journey from sin and error pursuing worldly pleasures, ambition, and false philosophies to conversion through the grace of God.
• It is not simply an autobiography but a prayer to God, written in a deeply personal, reflective style. Augustine lays bare his soul before the Lord, confessing sins, praising God’s mercy, and meditating on grace and conversion.
• Its themes include:
o The restlessness of the human heart until it rests in God.
o The power of prayer and Scripture.
o The importance of humility and repentance.
o The grace of God in overcoming sin and error.
One of its most famous lines, still quoted often today, is:
“Thou hast made us for Thyself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in Thee.”

The Transgender Movement: A Diabolical Assault on Truth and Innocence
1. Minneapolis Mass Shooting (August 27, 2025)
• What happened: During a morning Mass at Annunciation Catholic Church and School in Minneapolis, the assailant Robin Westman, a 23-year-old transgender individual opened fire through the church’s stained-glass windows. The attack tragically killed two children and wounded 17 others (including 14 students and three parishioners), before the perpetrator died by suicide.
Investigation & motives: The FBI is investigating the shooting as an act of domestic terrorism and a hate crime targeting Catholics. Westman left behind disturbing online content revealing identity crisis, self-hatred, ideological rants, and admiration for previous school shootings though no direct motive tied to Catholicism has been conclusively established. Authorities have cautioned against ascribing the violence solely to their gender identity.
2. Broader Context
• Anti-Catholic incidents (2020–2022): From May 2020 to May 2022, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) recorded at least 139 anti Catholic incidents across 35 states and D.C. These included arson, vandalism, statue desecrations, graffiti, and theft but none were attributed to transgender perpetrators or motivations.
• No other cases involving transgender attackers targeting Catholics are documented in reputable news outlets, academic studies, or official law enforcement statistics.
Introduction
Many Catholics ask: Why has this erupted so suddenly? Why is it so viciously opposed to the Catholic Church?
Today we will explore three key points:
1. How the transgender movement mirrors satanic covens and their embrace of transgender identities.
2. Why the transgender movement has exploded in just the past five years.
3. Why the Catholic Church and even Catholic children have become a direct target.
The Transgender Movement and Its Parallels to Satanic Covens
The first thing we must realize is that there is nothing “new” about the transgender phenomenon. Throughout history, paganism and occult rituals often blurred sexual identity. In many satanic covens, particularly those exposed by exorcists such as Fr. Chad Ripperger, a high number of individuals identify as transgender or embrace gender inversion.
Why? Because Satan seeks to mock and invert creation itself. God created male and female in His image (Genesis 1:27). The diabolical always seeks to distort, corrupt, and parody the divine. Inverting gender turning man into woman, and woman into man is a direct insult to God’s creative order.
This inversion is not simply psychological confusion; it is spiritual rebellion. As St. Paul tells us:
“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace” (1 Corinthians 14:33).
The devil thrives on confusion. He thrives on mocking what is holy. The transgender presence in satanic groups is therefore no accident; it is the logical extension of a spiritual war against the Creator.
Why This Movement Erupted in the Last Five Years
Some ask: Why now? Why has transgender ideology exploded in the past five years?
The answer is twofold:
1. Cultural Conditioning. For decades, the groundwork was laid by relativism the lie that there is no objective truth. Once society abandoned “male and female He created them,” anything became possible. When same-sex marriage was normalized, the next frontier was erasing gender entirely.
2. Spiritual Acceleration. Evil has an hour. Just as Our Lord spoke of “the hour of darkness” (Luke 22:53), we see a permitted time of diabolical assault. The past five years have coincided with cultural, political, and technological movements that spread gender ideology at lightning speed through schools, media, and corporations.
This is not random. It is coordinated. And, from a Traditional Catholic lens, it reflects the chastisements warned of at Fatima and elsewhere: when mankind rejects truth, God permits confusion as both punishment and wake-up call.
Why the Catholic Church and Catholic Children Are Targeted
Finally, why does the transgender movement especially target the Catholic Church and even Catholic children?
Because the Church is the last visible bastion standing for the truth about man and woman. Governments may collapse, corporations may comply, but the Bride of Christ proclaims:
“Male and female He created them” (Genesis 1:27).
“What God hath joined together, let no man put asunder” (Matthew 19:6).
The Catholic Church defends chastity, purity, and innocence virtues most hated by Satan.
That is why drag performances have blasphemously mocked the Mass. That is why activists march against Catholic parishes and schools. That is why the diabolical inspires violence even against Catholic children for to corrupt or kill the innocent is Satan’s ultimate insult to God.

Our Lord warned us:
“If the world hate you, know ye, that it hath hated Me before you” (John 15:18).
The attack on Catholic children is nothing less than the modern manifestation of Herod’s massacre of the Holy Innocents. It is hatred for purity, hatred for truth, hatred for the Lamb of God who sanctifies the family.
Conclusion: Fidelity in the Fire
Dear friends, we must not despair. Though the transgender movement appears powerful, it is built on lies. Lies cannot endure. As St. Augustine said, “The truth is like a lion; you don’t have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself.”
We must pray, do penance, protect our children, and remain firm in the teachings of Holy Mother Church. Above all, we must remember that Christ is King, and His Cross is the victory.
My dear friends in Christ, welcome to today’s episode. It is Thursday, August 28th, 2025, the 11th Sunday after Pentecost cycle, and today we celebrate the feast of St. Augustine of Hippo, one of the greatest Doctors of the Church. His life was a dramatic journey of conversion—from worldly ambition and sin to the blazing light of sanctity, guided by grace and the prayers of his mother, St. Monica.
Today’s Scripture readings speak directly to the life and mission of St. Augustine: perseverance in preaching the word of God despite trials, and the call to be salt and light in a world prone to decay and darkness.
Epistle: 2 Timothy 4:1–8
"Preach the word: be instant in season, out of season: reprove, entreat, rebuke in all patience and doctrine. For there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound doctrine... But be thou vigilant, labor in all things, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill thy ministry. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."
Reflection on the Epistle
St. Paul’s words to Timothy resonate across the centuries: remain faithful in teaching the truth, even when the world prefers falsehoods. He speaks of a time when people will not endure sound doctrine a prophecy that feels especially relevant in our own day, when so many in the Church embrace novelty while abandoning Tradition.
For Augustine, this passage was a lived reality. As bishop of Hippo, he preached tirelessly against heresies Manichaeism, Donatism, and especially Pelagianism. He endured criticism, false accusations, and exhaustion. Yet like Paul, he “fought the good fight” and “kept the faith.”
This Epistle reminds us that fidelity to Christ requires perseverance. Whether priest or layman, each of us must “preach the word” through our lives, standing firm when others turn away from the truth.
Gospel: Matthew 5:13–19
"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt lose its savor, wherewith shall it be salted? It is good for nothing but to be cast out and to be trodden on by men. You are the light of the world. A city seated on a mountain cannot be hid... So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."
Reflection on the Gospel
Christ’s words are both a gift and a warning. Salt preserves from corruption and gives flavor; light dispels darkness and guides the way. Christians are called to be both. Yet Christ warns that if salt loses its savor, it becomes worthless. A disciple who hides the truth or lives without fidelity betrays his mission.
St. Augustine’s life embodies this Gospel. In his early years, he lost his “savor” by pursuing vanity, pleasure, and worldly philosophy. Yet through God’s grace, he was restored and became a great light for the Church. His sermons, writings, and witness preserved the faith from corruption and continue to guide us today.
The warning remains timely. How many Catholics today hide their light, blending into the world instead of standing as a city on the mountain? How many have allowed the salt of faith to go bland by tolerating error or sin? The Gospel calls us back to authenticity: to shine, to preserve, to witness.
Feast of St. Augustine
St. Augustine (354–430) is one of the Church’s greatest theologians and bishops. His Confessions reveal the drama of sin, grace, and conversion. His City of God laid the foundations for Catholic understanding of history and the two kingdoms—earthly and heavenly. He defended the Church with vigor, even amid collapse and invasion in the Roman Empire.
His feast reminds us that no sinner is beyond redemption and no saint is made without struggle. Augustine teaches us to depend entirely on grace, to persevere in truth, and to let the light of Christ shine through our lives.
Application for Today
• Be faithful to sound doctrine: Resist the temptation to compromise with modern errors; cling to the Tradition handed down.
• Persevere in prayer and sacrifice: Like Augustine and St. Monica, never give up on souls even when conversion seems impossible.
• Be salt and light: Let your Catholic identity be visible in the world, not hidden. Preserve the faith in your family and community.
• Trust in grace: Augustine’s conversion shows that God’s mercy can transform even the most hardened heart.

Conclusionary Prayer
O God, who didst renew Thy Church through the conversion and teaching of St. Augustine, grant that we may, through his intercession, persevere in sound doctrine, shine as salt and light in a darkened world, and finish our course in fidelity to Thee. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
St. Augustine of Hippo, pray for us.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, intercede for us.
