Welcome. The squash growth is at a crawl with the early Fall weather. We even get to 0C next week with 30 to 40 F being forecast just on the other side of Lake Ontario. I’m hoping the last few zucchinis will grow before a frost, along with the regular squash and the one pumpkin up front. Once the frost hits, the squash can survive a mild frost, but not the vine.

I’ve cut the grass 4 times all year due to the lack of rain. The fourth being today. The weeds were starting to pollinate and August is fraught enough with allergies. The pool is coming down and so begins the harvest after that. We’ll start with the carrots, which need to come out of the ground, and then the ripened squashes. Some of the spaghetti squashes have been golden yellow and ready for a while.

Accidently broke off a shoot with three flowers on Butch today climbing into the front garden box to unfurl a morning glory from a squash plant going absolutely nowhere. Those flowers are in a jug for now. The box is looking good, until the frost that is, if we get it. Until then, enjoy.
