Country. Song: Washing Away Your Pain.

I pull this quilt up to my chin
Feel the warmth begin to settle in
The fire crackles soft and low
There's peace in letting evening go

Your hand finds mine beneath the wool
This quiet moment, safe and full
The kettle hums its sleepy tune
While autumn wind shakes leaves too soon

All the world can wait outside
Here we have nowhere to hide
From the comfort that we've made
In this shelter love has laid

And I remember being small
Running barefoot down the hall
To find you waiting by the door
With open arms and so much more

Those days of scraped knees and tears
You kissed away my childhood fears
Wrapped me up when storms would rage
Turned each worry to a page

Now seasons change but some things stay
The way you chase my doubts away
How Sunday mornings feel so right
With coffee steaming, soft sunlight

When the world gets too loud
And I'm lost in the crowd
I close my eyes and I'm back home
Where hearts don't have to feel alone
Where every corner holds a prayer
And love lives easy in the air

Tonight I'm counting all we've built
These memories sewn like this old quilt
Each patch a moment that we shared
Each stitch a sign of how you cared

The embers fade but warmth remains
Tomorrow brings both sun and rain
But here inside these walls we've blessed
My weary soul can finally rest

So let the night wrap 'round us tight
Like arms that hold us through the fright
Of all the things we cannot change
Love makes the ordinary feel less strange

And when I wake I'll carry on
The strength you've given from day one
But now I'll drift where hope runs deep
In cozy, blessed, peaceful sleep
Rain taps gentle on the window pane
Washing clean tomorrow's pain
