Where Is God When Horrendous Evil Happens?

The feast of the beheading of Saint John the Baptist is celebrated, prompting reflection on God’s role in preventing suffering. While God could intervene, He allows suffering for a greater purpose, as seen in the lives of saints and martyrs. Our focus should be on uniting suffering with Christ’s, finding meaning in it, and responding with prayer and charity, rather than anger.
