**1. On Knowing Their Works and Labor:**
* **1 Thessalonians 1:3:** *"Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father."*
* **Hebrews 6:10:** *"For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister."*
* **1 Corinthians 15:58:** *"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."*

**2. On Patience and Perseverance:**
* **Romans 2:7:** *"To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life."*
* **James 1:3-4:** *"Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing."*
* **Hebrews 12:1:** *"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us."*

**3. On Discerning and Trying False Apostles/Teachers:**
* **1 John 4:1:** *"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."*
* **Matthew 7:15-16:** *"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits..."*
* **2 Corinthians 11:13-15:** *"For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light."*
* **Galatians 1:8-9:** *"But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed."*

**4. On Leaving Your First Love & The Call to Repent:**
* **Jeremiah 2:2:** *"Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown."* (A powerful OT parallel).
* **Matthew 24:12:** *"And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold."*
* **Acts 3:19:** *"Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord."*
* **James 4:8:** *"Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded."*

**5. On the Consequence of the Removed Candlestick:**
* **Romans 11:20-22:** *"Well; because of unbelief they were broken off... Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off."*

* **Revelation 22:14:** *"Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city."*
* **Genesis 2:9:** *"And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden..."* (The promise is a restoration of Eden's paradise).
