Miranda Devine: Mamdani Is Bringing Policies That Tim Walz and Jacob Frey Brought to Their State

CHAFFETZ: “So miranda, mamdani has spoke about his stance on decriminalizing misdemeanors. Have a walch of this:”

Reporter: “Are you for decriminalizing all misdemeanors?”

MAMDANI: “No. You can’t find that on my platform because it’s not there.”

CHAFFETZ: “Miranda, crimes such as shoplifting and theft, that are under $1,000 are misdemeanors in New York City. I mean, do you believe that mamdani won’t try to decriminalize that? He has been out there. He says oh, you quantd find it. Can’t find that boy, he has come close to taking that position.”

DEVINE: “Well, look, I just think that he is bringing policies that Tim Walz and the Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey brought to their state and their city. And New York, the last thing we need is more crime, more lawlessness, more disorder. That is exactly what would happen if misdemeanors are done away with. I mean, that is the platform of his particular left-wing section of the Democratic Party. And it’s just a recipe for disaster.”
