Jeff "Smitty" Smith began his punk career after being tricked out of his ticket to see Sex Pistols at Randy's Rodeo in San Antonio, Texas on January 8, 1978, by his own brother no less. Since then he's fronted The Hickoids, a legendary Cow Punk band that has gigged pretty steadily from the 80s through the present day. He's also founded several record labels including his current Saustex Records imprint, releasing 100+ titles over the years. Cupchairs caught Smitty the day before he departs on a Hickoids tour from Texas up to Seattle, Washington (a 1-way distance of over 2,000 miles!).
