While the Collective West remains gripped by the policies of militarism, financial austerity, and cultural decay, there are major events underway shifting the course of humanity away from colonialism and into a new paradigm.

Those meetings will be taking place in the upcoming week. Tomorrow, leaders of major nations will meet in Tianjin, China, for the heads of state summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting Aug. 31-Sept. 1. This will then be followed with the Beijing Sept. 3 commemoration of the 80th anniversary of China’s defeat of Japanese militarism in the Pacific, and then by the Vladivostok Eastern Economic Forum from Sept. 3-6.

It is clear, at least in the Asia-Pacific, that a new system of international relations, based on equality, mutual respect, and new economic activity is emerging from the coordinated activities of China, Russia, India, and others. When will the United States, and the other nations of the Global North, who have isolated themselves from the Global South, and supported policies in the Gaza Strip which have led to the mass killing and starvation of hundreds of thousands of women and children, finally wake up and join this effort amongst sane leaders?

As Helga Zepp-LaRouche, chairwoman of the Schiller Institute and initiator of the International Peace Coalition, has stressed for weeks, should U.S. President Donald Trump journey to Beijing to attend the celebrations, a new dynamic could open. Even now, as improbable as the meeting seems, pushing for Trump to attend is the sane and moral vantage point.

Otherwise, Helga Zepp-LaRouche, in yesterday’s IPC meeting, had also stressed the urgent importance for the world community to act and stop the genocide. “If the world community proves unable to stop it,” she said, “this is the end of civilization. This is the last chance. If the world community fails to act, we are losing everything… even the ability to look at oneself in the mirror.”

We have a window in which to act in this period, though it is not much time. You can begin by mobilizing yourself and other people to get on today’s meeting of the Manhattan Project at 2pm.

Speakers: Harley Schlanger and Mike Robinson
