Fort Monroe in Hampton, Virginia

In and out of Fort Monroe in Hampton, Virginia -- next to Norfolk, Virginia -- which was built in 1819 to 1834 and is the largest stone fault ever built in the US. It is encircled by a moat -- which we traverse. Fort Monroe was an important fort held by the North in the Civil War, and was an active US Army base until 2011 when it was closed and converted into a US Federal Park.
