Regarding Parking Tickets: The extortionist tactics used by the city were vast and my 16 years of living there were a constant battle to keep my vehicle from being ticketed. There are many examples, however I will provide one that will give some insight to the unscrupulous nature of that municipality. When I moved to my last apartment in a residential area where I would live for about ten years, I was ticketed on the very first night. I did not understand the reason for the ticket and having to work during the day, I was unable to make it to the parking division office immediately to inquire. I received tickets nightly thereafter until I went to the office a few days later. I was informed that there were no signs to display parking restrictions for the specific infraction I was ticketed for because they were unsightly and parking division expected residents to learn by word of mouth. I expressed my opinion about how ludicrous that policy was and asked them to explain to me how exactly I was supposed to park in order to avoid being ticketed. They explained and that night I followed the directions exactly and was ticketed yet again that night while I slept. the instructions given were the exact opposite of what the requirements were as I learned by way of an explanation given to me by one of my neighbors. I had to pay all tickets and was scolded for not coming to the parking division office immediately upon receiving the first ticket.
