As a Man Thinks in His Heart – Psalms 13-15

In last week's study we looked up Prov. 23:1-8. We zeroed in on the idea that "as he [a man] thinks in his heart, so is he." In other words, the thoughts we entertain drive the decisions we make. As we'll see in today's text, a person's thoughts can be influenced by his emotions. That's normal and okay to a certain extent. But if the emotions are given too much sway, they can lead to bad thoughts and poor decisions. Think of Gen. 3. Satan reasoned with Eve before playing to her pride. Her pride eventually won out, swaying her thoughts and leading to sin.
