Highline Picket for horse camping - tips

Some places when you are horse camping your only option or your best option may be a highline picket system for tying your horse or horses. Horses tied straight up to trees OFTEN damage and sometimes kill the trees - so that is not a good option. Tree savers help keep the trees from being damaged. A rope ratchet makes taking up slack easy. Pipe insulation or a pool noodle covering your lead line lessens the odds of a rope burn. And how exactly do you determine where to hang your hay net, place your buckets of water, etc..
