DIY medical adventures in Vietnam! After cutting my finger open with a router blade during a balcony project, I needed stitches removed at lunchtime when no doctors were available.

Enter the security guard: "I've seen it done before. It's fine. Don't worry!" He seemed cagey at first, then confidently cut them all out. Cost? 50k dong - about $2!

That's when I REALLY knew he wasn't qualified! But the adventure wasn't over - leaving with a freshly cut toenail wound during terrible flooding meant riding through "the dirtiest water on earth" with my foot on the handlebars, praying the motorbike wouldn't stop!
