Three Essex County sheriff’s officers — Jimmy Rodriguez, Fabian Caicedo, and Erik Udvarhely — have been charged with theft after allegedly stealing high-end sneakers and a designer belt during a January 2023 narcotics raid at an East Orange apartment. Surveillance footage reportedly showed the officers placing the stolen goods into bags, moving them into a work vehicle, and later transferring them to their personal cars. The officers have been suspended without pay, and prosecutors emphasized that “no one is above the law.”
