Shoftim - Abominable Practices

When you come into the land that the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations.
Deuteronomy 18:9 ESV

...for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD. And because of these abominations the LORD your God is driving them out before you.
Deuteronomy 18:12 ESV

God's character never changes. If something is an abomination to him if done by Canaanites or Israelites, then it's an abomination if you do it. Don't adopt pagan religious practices and claim you're doing them for him or you will become disgusting in his eyes.

Instead of adopting pagan practices and holidays, learn and keep God's appointed times.
