SCO Summit: PM Modi, Putin Hold Talks in Tianjin; Discuss India-Russia Ties & Ukraine War | N18G

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin held bilateral talks in China's Tianjin on Monday (September 1) following the SCO summit. Both leaders travelled to the venue of the bilateral meeting in the same car. PM Modi posted a photo on X of both leaders travelling together to the meeting venue. President Putin hailed India-Russia ties and referred to PM Modi as "dear friend" during the bilateral. PM Modi called for peace in Ukraine during talks with Putin. The Russian President is set to visit India in December this year. The Modi-Putin meeting took place amid Trump's tariffs on India over its purchase of Russian oil.
