JC’S SMOKED SPITZ AND MORNING GLORY

Sunflower seeds are a staple for fans of baseball and softball, and Jon Bernstein parlayed a job with sunflowers into producing delicious and uniquely-flavored smoked sunflower seeds along with his wife Christy at their Pride of Dakota business JC's Smoked Spitz. The couple from Wahpeton, North Dakota set up an out-building on Jon's dad's farm and began smoking and seasoning--producing flavored "spitz" including Original Smoked, Smoked Dill, Smoked Buffalo, Smokey Fajita Lime, Cinna-Crunch. They also produce seasonings and rubs at their Old 81 Gourmet business.

Stephanie Kalinowski comes from a family of bakers. Her family was part of a cafe called Morning Glory which began in 2012 in Kindred, North Dakota near where she now lives in Christine. Stephanie retained the name and these days produces exceptional baked items and Belgian chocolate treats at her home's certified commercial Kitchen; from cookies and pies, to specialty premium-chocolate-dipped potato chips she calls "petals" (morning glory flower reference)! She uses her creative skills to make goodies for everything from special occasions and gatherings to plates of various treats for businesses.
