Plato's Republic - Dispelling Omissions from Book 10

Book Ten of The Republic is the last book, it ends the text itself. While many people have made much about Plato disliking Homer and what that means, this is a misconstrual of what is going on. Oddly, given the way the text is presented, this section is all about pointing up and out and not a critique of poetry or stories.
If you were looking towards mere philosophy for an answer, this is the time to learn that it does not do so. The emphasis not on story as such but a proper story that lasts is interesting when you hear what that story is. Christians would argue the perfection of what Plato claims is in their version.
So why aren't people talking about this? It is important to recognize what is being said and why it's so significant to the mission of philosophy as such.
