Crossing the Suez Canal - From Red Sea to Mediterranean

Arriving from above from the south-west, a thread of water parts the desert, widening at the Bitter Lakes before running to the sea. Along this line, 55–70 ships move each day in quiet procession, carrying 12–15% of world trade and roughly a quarter of its containers.
