We’re heading straight to Minnesota, USA (from our kitchen here in the UK 🇬🇧) to make and try the legendary Juicy Lucy burger for the very first time! 🍔🧀

This burger isn’t just any cheeseburger… the cheese is stuffed inside the patty, melting into a gooey, delicious surprise when you take your first bite. Known as Minnesota’s most famous burger, the Juicy Lucy (or Jucy Lucy—depending on which side of the local debate you’re on!) has become a true American food icon.

We learn the history behind the Juicy Lucy (Matt’s Bar vs. the 5-8 Club – which team are you on?).

We cook the patties on a sizzling cast iron skillet with beef tallow & onions for maximum flavor.

And of course… we taste test it for the very first time and give it our honest British reaction!

🍔 What is a Juicy Lucy?
The Juicy Lucy is a Minnesota-born cheeseburger with the cheese sealed inside the meat instead of on top. When cooked, the cheese melts into a molten core—oozing out with every bite. Some say it was invented at Matt’s Bar (“Jucy Lucy” without the “i”), while others credit the 5-8 Club (“Juicy Lucy” with the “i”). Either way, it’s become one of America’s most famous burgers!
