“History Will Not Forget”: Al-Shifa Hospital Reduced to Ruins

Dr. Farhan Azeez, a volunteer in Gaza, has documented the devastation of Gaza City’s Al-Shifa Medical Complex. Once the territory’s largest hospital, it has been besieged and invaded twice by the Israeli army. Its buildings lie shattered, its staff killed or abducted, and its patients either murdered or forced to flee.

Today, the hospital grounds have become something unthinkable... a cemetery. Victims are buried in shallow graves, their makeshift tombstones fashioned from the very hospital beds that were meant to save their lives. As Dr. Azeez put it, “History will not forget.”
