EL CID // IRON FLAME // OCCIDENTUM LUX
A retro darksynth battle hymn of exile, fire, and holy vengeance.

Occidentum Lux — The Light of the West — stands as a sound and vision project dedicated to preserving and reawakening the spiritual and heroic legacy of Christian Europe. In this track, we summon the iron soul of El Cid, the legendary Castilian warlord who defended the Faith when Spain stood on the edge of annihilation.

The Legend of El Cid
Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar — El Cid — was more than a warrior. He was the hammer of the Moors and the defender of Christian Spain in the 11th century. Exiled from his homeland, he did not fade. Instead, he rose. In 1094, he laid siege to the Muslim-held city of Valencia and seized it in the name of Christ — not just saving Spain, but striking a blow for Christianity itself during the long and brutal Reconquista.

This track evokes that moment: the burning towers, the clash of iron, the justice of a man cast out by kings but raised up by God.

From the Poem of El Cid
El Cantar de Mio Cid is Spain’s oldest surviving epic poem — a chronicle of exile, battle, honor, and restoration. Some lines in this track are drawn from or inspired by the poem itself, such as:

"No mercy was given."
"He came not to rule — but to burn down shame."

These words speak of divine purpose, brutal justice, and a warrior’s sacred fire.

About the Sound
Iron Flame is driven by distorted analog synths, militant industrial drums, ghostly choir textures, and ambient layers of fire and wind. It channels the apocalypse of siege warfare and the sacred fury of a man chosen by destiny — a sonic tribute to the warlord-saint of Castile.

🔥 Let the towers burn. Let the traitors fall. The Lord of Castile is not dead yet.
🔔 Occidentum Lux — the flame endures.
