This episode brings you a double dose of literary talent. First, we chat with Kay Sparling, an international opera singer turned spy thriller author. Kay's debut novel, "Mission Thaw" features an American opera singer recruited by the CIA, inspired by her real experiences working in 1980s Austria with refugee camps. Her life sounds like it belongs in a thriller novel itself!

Next up is Tricia Copeland, a master of multiple genres who believes magic infuses every aspect of our lives. This Georgia native, now a Colorado resident, has crafted award-winning fantasy series, including the Kingdom Journals, as well as contemporary romance under the pen name Maria Jane, and dystopian sci-fi. Her Kingdom of Embers won the Gold Medal Readers' Choice Award in 2020, and she's courageously written about overcoming personal struggles, including anorexia.

We dive into Kay's journey from opera stages to spy thriller pages, Tricia's belief that magic exists everywhere, and how both authors transform real-life experiences into compelling fiction.
