How can scammers scam if they can’t speak English?

This is one of my more unusual calls, all in the guise of giving away a free gift card. At the tine I couldn’t figure out exactly how the scammers would benefit by what they were asking from me…but it dawned on me FOUR YEARS LATER what they were really up to, and it is revealed here…in this old video for me, but it is “New to YOU!”

I still don’t have any good ways to scambait on my computer. The issue is thatI am not able to record what the scammer says at his end of the call….and I refuse to pay for Google Voice to be able to do that. Any suggestions? Let me know in the comments section.
