Mortgage fraud is a crime committed by the wealthy. The average American struggles to buy a home, their primary residence. Then they struggle to pay property taxes on that home each year. It is the wealthy that commit mortgage fraud by claiming to be purchasing a primary residence to get a better mortgage rate. Then they rent out the property and do not live in it themselves. That is mortgage fraud. It is a lie in order to get a better interest rate, and only the wealthy are committing this crime.
