The king of Egypt wanted the midwives to do something terrible! The midwife would have been the first one to see the baby being born, and the king said if the baby was a boy he wanted them to kill it! Oh no! But if it was a girl she could live! Today let’s read Exodus 1:16 and grab two toy characters. One to represent a boy and one to represent a girl. Hide them behind your back (one in the left hand and one in the right) and have your Tiny Arrow pick one. If it is the boy character explain that the king of Egypt wanted the boy dead, and have them say death. If they choose the girl explain that the king of Egypt said the girl could live and have them say life!

“When you are helping the Hebrew women during childbirth on the delivery stool, if you see that the baby is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live.”
