More Israelis believe Netanyahu govt is an ‘authoritarian regime': Israeli political analyst

Israel’s war is wearing down its citizens, says Akiva Eldar, an Israeli political analyst.

“More and more Israelis believe that we have now an authoritarian regime,” Eldar told Al Jazeera, speaking from Tel Aviv.

Even people close to Netanyahu are saying the war is not worth the diplomatic isolation, he added. Additionally, reservist soldiers who have already served in Gaza are increasingly refusing to return to fight, Eldar said.
