007 First Light - Gameplay Trailer

We’ve known for a while that IO Interactive, the developer behind the Hitman series, was working on a James Bond game titled 007 First Light. The first trailer released earlier this year, and it came and went without much buzz. This second trailer seems to be more in line with what players expect from the Hitman developer and a proper James Bond game. We get driving shots, hand-to-hand fighting shots, and of course Bond blowing stuff up. All set to the backdrop of the 007 theme. First Light takes place when Bond is still a young recruit in MI6, and not yet a full-fledged spy, and according to Steam, it will be a third-person shooter, but also an immersive sim. This is great news, as it means this won’t be a linear run-and-gun affair, but will afford the player lots of freedom to accomplish mission objectives as they see fit, as a proper immersive sim should. Sounds exciting.

007 First Light is releasing for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC on March 27, 2026.
