Deuteronomy 15

Chapter 15 continues on the same train of thought as tithing, how we relate to money and how we serve God.

The point of a sabbath year and of the laws regarding bond servants was remembering what God has done for Israel, and forgiving your neighbor. Do we trust God with our money, and can we trust that if we do things the way that God wants, is it a better way than holding on to money?

Along with the sabbath year, the firstborn was just like tithing. Do we trust God with money that we've been entrusted with, even in a pagan society that values holding tightly to money?

What kind of society do we want to live in?
